FOUNDATIONS OF 3D ANIMATION APPLICATIONS

THIS IS A PART OF ALL SPECIALISATION COURSES, AND IS NOT A SEPARATE COURSE

 

WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
All new students at Nanomyte pursuing the Diploma in 3D Animation, VFX or Gaming – this course covers the basics and essentials of the software applications needed to pursue a career in the animation, VFX and gaming industry.

ASSUMED KNOWLEDGE
Attendees require only a very general knowledge and interest of 3D and its concepts although a basic understanding of operating a computer and software is essential. Prior knowledge of other applications such as Autodesk Maya, Autodesk 3DS Max, Adobe Photoshop or Adobe After Effects is an advantage but not a necessity.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Upon successful completion of this course you will be able to: work in a production environment, understand the mechanics of leading 3D applications, be able to create 3d models using a variety of techniques, work with materials to texture your models, understand how to light a scene, be able to create animations, stage a scene and understand cinematography and know how to render a scene for use in post production.

COURSE DURATION: 6 months (this can be accelerated to the specialisation courses after a progress evaluation and counselling session after 4 months)

Modeling & Texturing

Nanomyte’s 3D Modeling course is exactly what you need as a digital artist specialising in 3D Modeling & Texturing. Our goal is to teach the technical aspects of 3D modeling as well as the theoretical concepts behind it, along with various tools to help you find your way and excel in your career.

After completing this course, you will have all the necessary knowledge to move on to the Advanced 3D Modeling and Advanced Texturing Diploma program, through which Nanomyte will continue to help you on your path to becoming an industry ready skilled professional 3D modeler or texture artist for film, tv and games.

COURSE DURATION:  12 months. If the student completes the FOUNDATIONS OF 3D ANIMATION APPLICATIONS base-level course in 4-6 months or less, he or she may complete the specialisation course in 12-14 months (pending a progress evaluation and counselling session after 4 months of the foundation course)

Animation

Nanomyte’s 3D Animation Course specialisation is designed to build your animation skills and provide a pathway to the Advanced 3D Animation Diploma by mastering the basics of 3D animation. First, you’ll learn everything from navigating Maya, the industry standard animation application to all the common tools that the pros use.

Once you’ve gotten comfortable with the basics you’ll move on to some more advanced animation techniques including the 12 principles of animation and how to get a character moving in a believable way by creating a character walk-cycle. Students will start to better understand physical animation, locomotion and start using more complicated animation rigs (some are actual rigs used in real productions) and finish with a cool piece of animation for their portfolios.

Nanomyte’s 3D Lighting, Rendering and Compositing course is a top-notch program if you are interested in lighting scenes for CG productions, whether it is in the VFX field, or a 3D animated series, feature film, or even in the architectural visualisation field.
